Extended School Year (ESY) Summer Program Coordinator
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Extended School Year (ESY) Summer Program Coordinator will work directly with the Director and/or Assistant Director of Student Services to provide oversight of the ESY Summer Program. In collaboration with the Director and/or Assistant of Student Services and the ESY staff, the program coordinator will monitor the implementation of the program curriculum, order necessary supplies, plan and arrange field trips and special events, and monitor the success of the program.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in special education or school administration required.
- MA certified in either intensive or moderate special needs or school administration.
- Prior experience working with students with special needs.
- Ability to handle a multitude of varying and complex issues.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Such other qualifications as the Director of Student Services may deem acceptable or appropriate.
- Safety Care certified or willing to be trained

RESPONSIBILITIES:
In collaboration with the Director and/or Assistant Director of Student Services, the ESY Summer Program Coordinator will:
- Prior to the program starting (Spring 2025):
- Facilitate and coordinate all aspects of summer school hiring; registration; transportation; curriculum; schedule and planning
- During program operation (7/7 - 8/14/2025 Mon - Thurs 7:45 am - 1:15 pm) through completion:
- Supervise and oversee the day to day operations of the extended year program; track attendance for staff and students; transportation; manage field trips and payroll
- Coordinate with student services, nursing services and staff regarding health, safety needs and IEP implementation
- Coordinate with FHS building principal and all other summer program coordinators at FHS regarding building wide safety protocol and procedures
- Work collaboratively with ESY staff to provide effective student support
- Work collaboratively with ESY staff to oversee the completion of progress reports from all service providers
- Coordinate each classroom packing and redistribution of furniture and materials to home sites with district maintenance department
COMPENSATION: Stipend - $10,000
