Financial Analyst - Accounts Payable

School Administration Building

M-F from 8:00 a.m.– 4:30 p.m. 

37.5 hours/week 12 months/year

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

• Experience as an accountant or experience with purchasing, coding, and accounting procedures in a business or institution comparable in size to the School Department.
• Successful experience in problem solving invoice questions and vendor relationships.
• Excellent technical skills including with Google Workplace and Microsoft Office Applications, a variety of business applications and ability to learn user- friendly software packages. Prior experience with Tyler Systems’ Munis ERP Software a plus.  
• Ability to handle multiple activities effectively, and accomplish tasks within deadlines.
• With a focus on details and accuracy, have a demonstrated ability to problem solve and show initiative.
• Organizational and follow-up skills to support projects.
• Successful experience working in a team environment.
• Enjoy working with the public to help answer wide-ranging questions or concerns in an efficient and pleasing manner.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Director of Finance and Operations may deem appropriate and acceptable.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

• Input and process invoices for payment. 
• Oversee all cash receipts functions and accounts for receipts for the School System. 
• Appropriately allocate expenses to various budget lines in compliance with Town and DESE budget guidelines.
• Monitor and provide advance warning of expenditures of budget accounts. 
• Reconciliation of a variety of accounts and internal review and audit of school based student activities accounts.
• Provide accounting services essential to the preparation, administration, supervision, and control of the budget.
• Prepare monthly financial reports as needed.
• Maintain budget documents and assist in preparation and publication of this information. 
• Handle reports and materials concerning the operations of the office. 
• Perform such other tasks as may from time to time be assigned by the Director of Finance and Operations.
