Special Education 1:1 Aide for Individual Student

Year to Year Position (as needed)
Additional before and after school hours available as:
Aide on Bus or for Sports & Extra Curriculars
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma.
- Post-secondary education preferred with a background in medical/special education.
- Experience working with Special Needs children preferred.
- Safety Care, CPR and first aid training preferred or willing to train.
- Ability to take direction from and work under the supervision of one or more teachers.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable (may require LPN certification depending on student needs).
Responsibilities:
- Work with students as assigned by the teacher.
- Willingness to be trained in specific behavioral techniques.
- Awareness of medical concerns: allergies, seizures, etc. and student assistance protocol.
- Accompany students to designated areas and classes as directed and assist student with class work.
- Willingness to be trained in specific behavioral techniques.
- Attend in-service training sessions that pertain to special education.
- Perform such other tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the classroom teacher and/or the Principal.
Salary: In accordance with non-union contract
