Financial Analyst - Accounts Payable
School Administration Building
M-F from 8:00 a.m.– 4:30 p.m.
37.5 hours/week 12 months/year
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience as an accountant or experience with purchasing, coding, and accounting procedures in a business or institution comparable in size to the School Department.
- Successful experience in problem solving invoice questions and vendor relationships.
- Excellent technical skills including with Google Workplace and Microsoft Office Applications, a variety of business applications and ability to learn user- friendly software packages. Prior experience with Tyler Systems’ Munis ERP Software a plus.
- Ability to handle multiple activities effectively, and accomplish tasks within deadlines.
- With a focus on details and accuracy, have a demonstrated ability to problem solve and show initiative.
- Organizational and follow-up skills to support projects.
- Successful experience working in a team environment.
- Enjoy working with the public to help answer wide-ranging questions or concerns in an efficient and pleasing manner.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Director of Finance and Operations may deem appropriate and acceptable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Input and process invoices for payment.
- Oversee all cash receipts functions and accounts for receipts for the School System.
- Appropriately allocate expenses to various budget lines in compliance with Town and DESE budget guidelines.
- Monitor and provide advance warning of expenditures of budget accounts.
- Reconciliation of a variety of accounts and internal review and audit of school based student activities accounts.
- Provide accounting services essential to the preparation, administration, supervision, and control of the budget.
- Prepare monthly financial reports as needed.
- Maintain budget documents and assist in preparation and publication of this information.
- Handle reports and materials concerning the operations of the office.
- Perform such other tasks as may from time to time be assigned by the Director of Finance and Operations.
SALARY: Non-Union Salary Schedule. Includes Benefits.
