Special Education Teacher (TIP Program)
Short Term Substitute: February - end of school year (approximately 16-20 weeks)

QUALIFICATIONS:
- REQUIRED Massachusetts licensure: Severe preferred, Moderate Disabilities License required.
- SEI Teacher Endorsement, preferred.
- Master's degree with an emphasis in Special Education, preferred.
- Demonstrated experience as a special education teacher of a substantially separate program.
- Safety Care, preferred.
- Experience with the use of specialized teaching techniques used with special education students.
- Ability to design or modify curriculum, instructional materials, and classroom environments for students with disabilities.
- Ability to implement behavioral management strategies.
- Such other alternatives as the Superintendent of Schools/Director of Student Services may deem acceptable and appropriate.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with other special needs staff, specialists, and administrative personnel in developing educational programs for special education students.
- Complete evaluation and progress reports, educational plan information, and other data required by local, state, and federal guidelines.
- Be responsible for ongoing diagnostic/prescriptive programming for children with disabilities.
- Assist general education teachers in the implementation of modifications for inclusionary practices.
- Guide and direct teaching assistants to facilitate programming for students.
- Support inclusionary practices to ensure student participation is in the least restrictive environment.
- Such other responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the Principal, Asst. Principal, and/or Special Education Building Administrator.
SALARY: In accordance with FEA Unit A Contract
