Special Education 1:1 Aide for Individual Student

2024-2025 SY
Year to Year Position (as needed)
Additional before and after school hours available as:
Aide on Bus or for Sports & Extracurriculars
Qualifications:
High School Diploma.
Post-secondary education preferred with a background in medical/special education.
Experience working with Special Needs children preferred.
Safety Care, CPR and first aid training preferred or willing to train.
Ability to take direction from and work under the supervision of one or more teachers.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable (may require LPN certification depending on student needs).
Responsibilities:
Work with students as assigned by the teacher.
Willingness to be trained in specific behavioral techniques.
Awareness of medical concerns: allergies, seizures, etc. and student assistance protocol.
Accompany students to designated areas and classes as directed and assist student with class work.
Willingness to be trained in specific behavioral techniques.
Attend in-service training sessions that pertain to special education.
Perform such other tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the classroom teacher and/or the Principal.
Salary: In accordance with non-union contract
