Special Education Aide for Individual Special Education Student(s) (during extracurricular school activities)

Description: Special Education Aide for Individual Special Education Students(s). Support special needs student during extracurricular after school activities

 

Qualifications: High School Diploma. Post-secondary education preferred with background in medical/special education. Experience working with Special Needs children preferred. CPR and first aid training preferred or willing to train. Ability to take direction from and work under the supervision of one or more teachers or coaches. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.

 

Responsibilities: Work on a one-to-one basis with students as assigned by the teacher. Willingness to be trained in specific behavioral techniques. Awareness of medical concerns: allergies, seizures, etc. and student assistance protocol. Accompany student to designated areas and classes as directed and assist the student with class work. Willingness to be trained in specific behavioral techniques. Attend in-service training sessions that pertain to special education. Perform such other tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the classroom teacher, coach, and/or the Principal.

 

Duration: Part time as needed through end of School Year 2023-2024 SY or when position is no longer needed.
