Job Description: Portuguese Enrichment – Teach Portuguese Language and Culture.
Reports To: Falmouth Community School Coordinator
Title: Portuguese Teacher
2-10 hours per week (after school hours)
Position Summary: Share the Portuguese Language and Culture with students K – 6th grade at Mullen Hall, Teaticket, E. Falmouth, North Falmouth and Morse Pond)
Qualifications:
- Minimum: Speak Portuguese and English.
- Experience working with children.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to develop strong working relationships with students.
- Ability to be independent and be a team member.
Responsibilities:
- Plan a variety of early learning and activities for children who want to learn the Portuguese language.
- Exhibit strong leadership skills and feel comfortable leading activities in front of a group.
- Set up, prepare supplies, facilitate, and clean up after the session is over.
- Be organized and prepared for each weekly lesson plans.
- Provide and collect sign-in sheets of all participants and send them weekly to the coordinator along with playgroup facilitator time sheets.
- Communicate with families in a positive nonjudgmental manner.
- Model reading, facilitate conversation, and promote developmentally appropriate play activities for children in the Portuguese language.
- Provide skills in both working collaboratively and independently.
- Maintain attendance and other forms.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the coordinator.
Salary and Terms of Employment: TBD per hour, part-time hours.
